The musical group PROMETHEUS was foundet in the 20^th century at the end of the 60th by the Greek youngsters the parents of which came to the previous Czechoslovakia during the civil war in Greece in the 40^th.

Since beginning PROMETHEUS tries to show its listeners the beauty of Greek songs an keep the spirit of the traditional Greek music also outside the Greek boundaries. During many years of its existence the group appeared in various social and cultural actions in the Czech Republic an also abroad. Among the most famous actions PROMETHEUS takes part in, there is the traditional Franta Kocourek´s Evening which takes place in Brno every year, the folklore festival in Strážnice and the Festival of national minorities in Bratislava, where the group PROMETHEUS excelled besides famous Mitsias Manolis and Mario Tokas.

PROMETHEUS collaborates also with other singers and musical groups, for instance Martha and Thena Elefteriadu etc.
